Today Boeing delivered to LATAM Airlines Group its first Boeing 787-9 jet. The new 787-9 will be operated by LAN Airlines. LATAM Airlines Group is leasing this 787-9 from AerCap and they expect the aircraft to enter into regular flight operations in April 2015. The company has ordered a total of 10 Boeing 787-9 jets. LATAM Airlines Group is the first operator of the 787-9 & 787-8 in Latin America. The airline has a total of 11 787 jets in its fleet, including this delivery (9 787-8 & 1 787-9). The company has ordered a total of 32 787 airplanes from Boeing.

Delivery Flight
The delivery flight took off from Paine Field (Snohomish County) ICAO: KPAE en-route to Santiago, Chile (ICAO: SCEL) at 3:30 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST). The delivery flight was operated by LAN Airlines as flight 1305 (LAN1305 / Callsign: "LAN Chile 1305"). At the time this article was written it was en-route to Chile. The flight was 12 hours and 15 minutes in length.
