Honda Aircraft Company has received a "provisional type certificate" from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the HondaJet. Honda says that the provisional type certificate approves the HondaJet's design, however further testing is still required for a final type certificate. The Atlanta Aircraft Certification Office is in charge of approving the HondaJet. Honda Aircraft is saying that they expect a final type certificate to be issued by the FAA in the next few months. The 4 HondaJet test aircraft have flown over 2,500 hours and have traveled to more than 70 locations around the United States. Currently 12 aircraft are on the final assembly line and an additional 5 are in the production flow.
