Embraer Executive Jets completes a major milestone for its new Legacy business jets.

Today, Embraer SA delivered the first Legacy 500 business jet to a Brazilian company. Embraer announced that the delivery took place at its headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil, where the jet is currently being produced. The aircraft, featured in the photo below, is painted with a white background that includes a blue and yellow stripe. The Legacy 500 jet is part of Embraer's new line of mid-sized business jets that includes the Legacy 450. The jet has not yet been awarded certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (United States) or from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), so deliveries to those areas of the world can not be completed yet.

Yesterday, October 9, 2014, Embarer also announced the groundbreaking of its new production facility for the Legacy 500 and 450 aircraft in Melbourne, Florida, USA at the Melbourne Airport (ICAO: KMLB, FAA: MLB) More on this event can be read about here. (Coming Soon).

Background on the Aircraft
The Embraer Legacy 500 features the up-to-date Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics system, the same system found on many high-end modern aircraft. Range for the jet is 3,125 nautical miles with 4 passengers, making a transcontinental fight across the United States possible. The aircraft can seat up to 12 people in an optional configuration, however has seats for 8 passengers in its standard configuration.
